About us

Community Defined Foundation was founded in 2021 by WNBA star Crystal Dangerfield. She loves giving back to the community and is passionate about feeding those in need. After taking a food sociology course, Crystal learned more about the global food system and how the inequities communities suffer from are not only rooted in class but race and gender. Understanding that also means understanding there is a struggle to expose our capitalist food system and, furthermore, carry out new strategies that can lead to deep-seated change. But the objective here is to plant seeds. CDF is dedicated to providing meals and other resources to areas impacted by low food security.
